Under the direction of the President, a disabled Vietnam combat veteran Marine and the CEO. a New York State licensed psychologist, the staff, all of whom have Bachelors or Associates Degrees and experience working with clients who have histories of mental illness, substance abuse, homelessness and HIV and AIDS, reflect the multi-cultural, multi-ethnic mix of New York City. Each clinical team member carries a caseload of between 15 and 20 clients and a part-time bilingual psychiatrist and multi-lingual substance abuse specialist provide supplemental services.

Since all of our tenants are free to refuse services, we have evolved a creative approach which front-loads services and which seeks to address the expressed needs of the changing consumer population. AA and NA groups are offered on site six times each week. Staff are highly visible and make frequent contact through notes and personal visits to common spaces rather than waiting in their offices. Bingo games, movies, pool and Ping-Pong competitions, softball, basketball and gardening have served as additional ways to engage tenants in social support services.

We collect Satisfaction Surveys from tenants who leave the program and who are willing to complete the surveys. 93% of the clients who completed the surveys have been satisfied with the services they received at our facility and would recommend our services to family or friends.

A recent look at our present tenants revealed the following:

- 21% are enrolled in educational persuits.
- 12% are enrolled in employment training.
- 33% are in day treatment.
- 36% are in substance abuse programs.
- 42% are in VA programs.
- 32% are working.
- 24% are in welfare to work.
- 48% are receiving VA or Social Security entitlements.
- 38% are reuniting with families or forming new families.
- 45% are in AA or NA.
- 72% participate in "in-house" groups.

We think the above statistics highlight our ability to engage our clients in meaningful rehabilitative activities and bring the same expertise to our clients in the supportive apartment program.
